Mercedes Moné issues AEW WrestleDream challenge after CMLL title bout
Mercedes Moné entered with ten championships for her CMLL title defense in Arena Mexico on Friday night (Oct. 17, 2025). The CEO handled business to exit with ten championships, and she issued a special challenge for AEW WrestleDream in an effort to break Ultimo Dragon’s record.
Mercedes offered an open challenge to any champion around the world. The CEO will put up the TBS Championship in title versus title at the PPV in St. Louis, MO on Saturday night (Oct. 18, 2025). Mercedes already made history this week by becoming the longest reigning TBS champion, and now it’s likely that she will break Ultimo Dragon’s record to hold eleven champions at the same time.
As for Mercedes’ match in Arena Mexico, she defended the CMLL Women’s World Championship against Persephone in the main event of the all women show. The CEO wasn’t risking any funny business from the local referees, so she brought in a ringer from AEW. Aubrey Edwards said she would call it down the middle fairly, despite Mercedes trying to bribe her.
Mercedes paid homage to Selena with her wrestling gear and musical entrance to Bidi Bidi Bom Bom.
Persephone executed powerhouse offense to push Mercedes to the limit. In the end, a high-flying tactic was the challenger’s downfall. Persephone missed on a flying splash. Mercedes pounced for a backcracker transitioning into the crossface submission for victory.
Next up for the CMLL Women’s World Championship is Olympia, however, Mercedes wants the match to take place in the USA.
